Founding members of the Manoa Heritage Center’s CENTURY CIRCLE already include 49 caring people committed to ensuring that the historic home, Kualii, the ancient heiau, and surrounding native gardens remain an oasis in the heart of Manoa Valley to be enjoyed for many generations to come! Founded in this celebratory year, THE CENTURY CIRCLE provides special events while supporting programs outlined in this newsletter.

MHC welcomes gifts of any amount and relies on them to continue these important educational activities. Annual donors of $1000 or more qualify for membership in THE CENTURY CIRCLE. Kūali‘i House Tour

Garden Tour: Tales of Mānoa Valley

Listen to a master storyteller while strolling through the gardens as you hear legends of Mānoa Valley, the gods of old, and ingenious ways that Hawaiians used native plants.

The Significance of Heiau in Hawaiʻi: Lecture Presentation

Gain a deeper understanding of the wahi pana (sacred places) of our islands, through the eyes of an expert. View images and learn about the heiau of O‘ahu, including Kūka‘ō‘ō Heiau, here at Mänoa Heritage Center. Tour of Kūka‘ō‘ō Heiau after the lecture.

Picnic on the Lawn or Lunch on the Lanai with visit to Sacred Heiau

“Christmas at Kūali‘i” Open House

Experience Christmas as it was in the “old days” in the Cooke family home, decorated for the holidays with family heirlooms. Nibble on homemade Christmas cookies from Grandmother Cooke’s own recipes.
