Advanced Papermaking: Shape to Form to Art

9 am to 12 pm

1-day session $45 (includes $15 materials fee)  

Use adhesive-backed foam to create your own positive and negative shapes. This will enable you to create a larger work of art by connecting the shapes with other materials such as fabric, wire, thread, string etc.  Also, special hand-dyed tissue will be available to add instant vibrant colors. Paper can be picked up on Monday, June 7 from 9am to 3pm.

For intermediate papermakers and above. Must have taken Intro to Papermaking to join Paper Club. Participants will be responsible for helping to set up and clean up.  

Limited to 6 participants. Minimum of 4 necessary to run the course. 


Intro to Papermaking for High School Students

9 am to 12 pm

1-day session $45 (includes $15 materials fee)  

Learn to create unique sheets of (Western-style) paper with moulds and deckles and various fibers pulped in a Hollander beater. The history of papermaking and its contemporary uses as an art-making material will be discussed. Be prepared to get wet, have fun, and make sheets of art paper that can be used for drawing, painting, printmaking, and 3-D constructions. Paper needs to dry overnight. You must return on Monday, June 27 between 9-4 pm to gather your dried paper.
