Welina kākou, e komo mai!

Greetings everybody and welcome!

We hope you are all safe and healthy and enjoying the longer, soon-to-be-summer days. In early July, we will reopen our MHC campus but in the meantime, we’ve developed a way for you to enjoy the mo‘olelo (stories) of the valley from the comfort of your home.

Using Prezi, an interactive presentation application, we are able to share images, stories, and even voice recordings about this special place with you via our new MHC@Home virtual adventures. So go to our homepage, click-on, and let Mānoa into your home.

You can access these virtual tours from our homepage in the sidebar, right under our Ka‘aipū Kākou Blog.

Explore MHC on your own time, in your own way with our “choose your own adventure” virtual tour. We are so fortunate to have artist Leah Rigg’s beautiful mosaics to launch these online adventures!

Once you select a mosaic, click on the red or green circles to start your adventure:

For instance, let’s say you click on the red circle near the ānuenue (rainbow):

As soon as it opens, you will hear our friend Jon Yasuda share the story of Kahalaopuna, the rainbow beauty of Mānoa.

Important!

After you explore the page, click on the left-pointing arrow in the bottom left corner to exit back to the main options screen. The left-pointing arrow is the only control you will need to explore different pages – using any other button, like the browser back button, will kick you back to the MHC homepage.

We hope you enjoy learning more about MHC in this interactive way.  Please let us know what you think in the comments below. We look forward to seeing you in person soon!
